Disk Erasure
HDDs, SSDs, NVMe, and USB drives. Hardware Secure Erase / NVMe Sanitize first; the drive's true full extent is wiped, including HPA/DCO hidden areas.
Phone Erasure
Android and iPhone — on-device Cryptographic Erase (CE), IMEI/serial capture, battery health, and 5-component parts verification on iPhone.
Certification
Every operation yields a QR-verified, SHA-256-hashed, DWP SS-036-aligned PDF certificate — to your cloud panel and, optionally, your own FTP/SFTP server.
Disk Erasure
The drive's true full extent — hidden areas included
Most wiping tools erase only what the OS can see. Before wiping, PIWIPE removes the HPA (Host Protected Area) with hidden sector counts reported, and restores the DCO (Device Configuration Overlay) to factory capacity. On SSD/NVMe, hardware commands take priority; frozen-drive state is detected.

NIST 800-88 Clear & Purge, DoD 5220.22-M 3-pass, and fast single-pass — pick per job.
Hardware Commands
NVMe Sanitize and ATA Secure Erase support is auto-detected; if unsupported, it falls back to software wipe — the certificate records which method ran.
HPA / DCO
Hidden-area detection and removal: HPA hidden sectors are reported, DCO is restored to factory capacity.
Verification
Post-wipe sector verification; result on the certificate. Drive interface, bus type, ATA version, and partition style are recorded too.

Phone Erasure & Parts Verification
Android and iPhone — device evidence beyond the wipe
Phones connect over USB and are erased instantly and irrecoverably via on-device Cryptographic Erase (CE). IMEI, serial number, OS version, and battery health are read automatically. On iPhones, PIWIPE goes a step further: factory serial numbers of five components are read from the device and compared against the installed parts — replaced components show up instantly.

Since phone data destruction happens instantly via on-device cryptographic erase, the certificate states the method rather than a duration: "Instant — On-device Cryptographic Erase." For bulk phone processing, devices connect in sequence and are managed from one panel; pre-registration certificates (PW-PRE) are also supported for intake before purchase.

ITAD Inventory Management
Bulk-register expected devices via CSV (serial/IMEI, customer, batch, aesthetic grade); when a device is wiped, its certificate auto-matches to the customer and batch. Batch progress, delivery marking, and Excel-friendly export in the panel.

PW-PRE pre-registration certificates at device intake — an unbroken record chain from acquisition to destruction.

- 1. Connect — Drives and phones are auto-detected on connection; model, serial, capacity/IMEI are read.
- 2. Diagnose — S.M.A.R.T. health scan, HPA/DCO detection; parts verification and battery health on iPhone.
- 3. Wipe — Choose the standard (NIST / DoD / fast); hardware-command-first execution + verification.
- 4. Certify — The PDF generates instantly, syncing to the cloud panel and optionally your FTP/SFTP; a credit is only consumed once the certificate exists.
